The Linghun Racing Team was established by the School of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Vehicle Engineering and Mechanics, Dalian University of Technology (DUT) to cultivate practical talents. Students in the team independently design and manufacture test cars and participate in the Formula Student China and the Baja SAE China organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineers. With the principle of challenging cutting-edge technology through technological innovation and the design concept of pushing the limits and doing the best, the team prepares for many domestic and foreign automotive engineering competitions. In practice, the team combines technical means such as material preparation, structural design, and process manufacturing with scientific and systematic management knowledge, attaches importance to the application of theories in practical operations and problem solving, and promotes an enterprise-oriented management and operation model. With clear organizational structure and division of labor, the team stresses the well-rounded development of its members. It is a comprehensive racing team facing all DUT students and absorbing talents from various disciplines including engineering, science, management, and economics.

Since its establishment, the team has won a variety of awards at home and abroad for many times, including more than 20 national awards in competition. With the principle of challenging cutting-edge technology through technological innovation, the team applies for more than ten innovation and entrepreneurship projects for college students every year on average, and has published many academic papers and applied for a number of patents relying on its racing innovation.
